We will define and clarify your unique position, key values, and who your ideal audience is. We’ll also look at some of your competitors and businesses similar to yours. From there we’ll settle on a few keywords that relate to a feeling you want to create.

How we build your website

WordPress CMS

These days, WordPress powers 28% of the internet and is responsible for 600 million websites. It’s a big deal for a reason…With an intuitive interface, this open source content management system (CMS) and blogging tool lets you easily manage your website’s content whenever you want.

Custom WordPress Design

My web developer and I start with a very basic theme—which is essentially a blank WordPress slate—and then customize it to your unique design. Your site will be customized to you, tailored to your audience, and will help distinguish your business. It will not look like a generic template.The website will load quickly, be easy to update yourself, and provide a seamless experience for your users.

Responsive Development

When we build websites they are “responsive,” which means they are easy to view and use on any screen size or device. From desktops to tablets to smart phones, your website will adapt in order to make your viewer’s experience a good one.

The Language

To maximize the customization and potential of your WordPress website, we use HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript and other languages and plugins in order to make your website exactly as it should be. These languages allow for customization of your website—and our fluency allows a website that is cleanly built to achieve your goals.

Image Optimization

Crisp, fast-loading images are a priority—so we make sure to use SVG images whenever possible. We also use icon fonts for scalable vector icons to ensure your site will look beautiful and clean on all retina and high pixel density displays.

Search Engine Friendly Code

When programming your website, we prioritize SEO-friendly code, meaning important keywords and metadata will be in all the right places—which affects your Google search ranking and how easily people can find your site and the content they are looking for. Your site will also be structured properly to enhance search engine findability. In addition, we configure the Yoast SEO plugin so you can easily take your website’s SEO to the next level. If you work with a copywriter they can optimize your site even further using targeted keyword research.

Social Media Integration

Sharing is caring! We ensure the content on your website is easy to share so that your supporters can spread the word and stay connected.

Intuitive Admin Area

With a little training, WordPress is intuitive and easy to navigate. We add Advanced Custom Fields Pro, Gravity Forms, and an intuitive visual editor, so the content on your website is easy to edit. In the admin area of your website, you’ll be at the wheel with the wind in your hair!

Security + Backups

When it comes to security and backup, we follow WordPress best practices. And so that you’ll never lose your content, your site will have an automated backup system in place, meaning you can revert to old versions if necessary.

Browser Testing

Your website shall look just-right in whichever modern browser it’s being viewed in. To ensure this, we test your website in Apple (Safari, iOS), Google, Microsoft (Edge), and Firefox.

Web Hosting Guidance

There are many web hosts out there to choose from. Though the choice will ultimately be yours, we will point you in the right direction and guide you towards a host and plan that will best meet your needs.

Ongoing Maintenance

You put a lot of work into your site. We make sure plugins, WordPress, and theme updates keep it humming along, so your clients get the best experience. The security of your site is important; it needs to be monitored for threats and hackers. We’ll take care of those details, and ensure you have ongoing backups. Simple trouble-shooting and fixes relating to maintenance are performed at no extra cost. Website Maintenance is an additional service billed quarterly and not included in the Custom Website Package pricing.

Custom website design, with a strategic focus, may not be the silver bullet that will solve all of our problems. We all know many things go into making a successful business besides a website. BUT it can be a seriously amazing tool. Changes can have an immediate effect on your business; in other cases it takes time to pick up momentum. But it will work.

For example, if you knew how much ONE new client or customer was worth to you, or how much maintaining a relationship over time was worth—let’s say $10,000—it would be a no-brainer to invest at least that much in ways to get that new client (and many others). If they can find you online when they are really looking (SEO!), and if your site connects with their wants and needs, making it easy to say yes—your website will be paid for and then some.

But not just any website can do this.

When it comes to a website, there are many layers and hidden parts—and you want them done right. Looking great is one important part of the equation. Plus there are many “back-end” considerations requiring technical knowledge. These considerations influence how your site functions and whether it works seamlessly to provide an awesome user experience and attract people. Our WordPress websites are designed with all those details in mind.
